when i grow up ...
i have spent a lot of my 2nd week crawling on the floor, playing on the floor, sleeping on the floor ... hmmm .. pretty much doing all my stuff on the floor! i am so curious what is "up there"! can someone please tell me? i am ever curious and have made so many attempts to pull myself 'higher' to reach different things and see a different view. i am in full on training to strengthen my leg muscles and achieve balance to see and do what others are doing! so far i have been doing squatting techniques to build my leg muscles. on occasion, i will give a 'double squat' to show that i am growing stronger every day. each time i stand, i try to master balancing by either having a toy in my hand, or in my mouth, and on occasion when i'm not trying to multi-task, i will do my 'hallelujah stand'! I have not felt rushed to furniture walk yet. instead, i'm building my energy for the right time, by eating healthy.
i drink 27 ozof milk a day, drink plenty of water, and eat 'super baby food' for my meals. mommy has somehow managed to trick me (she thinks i don't know, but i really do!) by blending things that i like and don't like all together! the great thing is that i LOVE eating .. things edible and things not! two weeks ago i was not eager to be buckled into my high chair or have that silly plastic thing velcroed around my neck. now, i am eager to be in the chair! mommy & daddy can't seem to buckle me in quick enough or get my food ready before i start chanting for food. though i am enjoying variations of solid food, my favorite is still my bottle. i just can't get enough of that, and sometimes feel mommy & daddy are jipping me an ounce here and there .. that really gets me upset!
my whole day isn't dedicated to training though. i do manage to get out and have some fun, or have people come and visit me! i love new people and new environments. i managed to attend church for the first time last weekend. mommy & daddy were so proud of me, as i was so good throughout service! i met some very nice people who wanted to make funny faces at me, pinch my cheeks, and see what "23 lbs" feels like :) i observe, observe, and observe some more. the studying of people and objects tires me out! how do big people handle all this stimulation? there many things to take in that is so fascinating! i mean, i still manage to notice new things even with things i see everyday! an example is my mommy's nose! did you know that she has one? i really noticed it the other day and touched it. it seems different than mine, but i need more time to declare that as fact. she does silly things like press her nose against mine, and it makes me laugh so hard. i find i notice all the things that big people miss out on. i noticed lint on the sofa and was battling it out with the lint. i noticed the texture of the playground floor, when all mommy & daddy wanted to do was go on the slide with me. i noticed the screws that put my toys together. i notice the grains in the hardwood floor and want to eat it (but have not been successful)!
amidst the details, mommy & daddy periodically try to elevate my thinking from micro to macro by asking me what i want to be when i grow up. i have indicated a few things by my actions:
superman? ok, maybe a pilot?
major league baseball player?
a pro golfer maybe? (i already practice gripping the club in my sleep!)
let me know what you think i will be when i grow up! :)i must say, for now, i remain a 'charmer' (especially with the ladies) …
and finally, here is my continued 100 day coverage ...
