can you believe that yesterday completes one week of my arrival to america? many of you have seen my announcement card and perhaps even had the opportunity to read my first email. so many family & friends have welcomed me and complimented me on my "cuteness". doesn't everyone know i am already 99.5 percentile for my head circumference? any more compliments will throw me off the charts! :)
anyways, if you don't know, i'm tobe! i am 10 months old and have decided to take over mommy's blog, since she is terrible at blogging anyways! there are many people that want to know how i am adjusting and what i'm up to, especially family who are scattered all over the world (or so i understand). so here is my attempt at keeping people up to date, along with posting some photos here and there of my cute self.
my first week with mommy & daddy in SJ has been really exciting! i have experienced so many new things, some of which i have loved, and some which i have not. i am very comfortable in my room and constantly try to impress my parents by climbing my furniture. i am not partial to just furniture though! i am very fascinated by doors as well, especially my mirror closet doors which slide. once i climb furniture, i stretch and try to show them how far i can reach anything that i shouldn't be reaching for :)
i visited my first american doctor who welcomed me with 4 shots -- one in each leg and arm. i was not a happy camper.

i celebrated my 10 month birthday on mon 8/31 with mash potatoes, off-tune singing, and a candle! the candle was the best part.

i have successfully stood on my own for more than 10 seconds!! on one occasion, i was 'performing' for some visitors and showed them how i could stand up, motion to sit back down, only to surprise them with a brief squat and then stand back up again! everyone was so proud of me .. and then i sat back down.
i have learned that the barrier between my room (which has carpet) and the hallway (which is hardwood), is no barrier at all! it was all psychological. now i feel very comfortable venturing into the hallway.
i sat in my stroller for the first time and like it!
i have met some very nice family & friends who have stopped by to visit me. i have been well behaved with almost all of them. i am particular curious about people who do not have black hair and brown eyes.
now a little bit about my eating and sleeping. i have discovered i do not really like carrots & peas. i really don't like squash and broccoli. i do however like mash potatoes, and will bring myself to eat it if mommy mixes things i do not like in it as well (see previous list of things i do not like and really do not like). i love fruits. in case there have been rumors that i have been keeping my parents up all night, that is a LIE! by my 4th night in america, i was sleeping through the night, anywhere from 11 - 13 hours. are my parents lucky or what? their sleep deprivation is their own doing!
finally, a story cannot be complete without pictures. since president obama received special news coverage for his first 100 days, it only seem fit that someone cuter (namely me), deserved at least the same coverage! mommy & daddy are helping me out by taking pictures of me .... hey, someone has to do the grunt work! checkout my first week of media coverage below!
