18 going on 36

my title refers to MONTHS and not years, in case you mistook me for being an adult ... which is completely understandable because i *am* wise beyond my years!

i turned 18 months last week, which is the "big" 1.5 years! half a year makes such a difference -- you know, like when you are 50.5 years old instead of 50 ... i KNOW what i want in this life. i speak loudly and boldly regarding the things i want ("i wan"), and most definitely articulate "no" when i don't want something (even when it is not a question). i masterfully trot around the house, outdoors, and wherever else i can manage to convince my parents to let me go. i just say one word commands -- "walk" or "down", and voila, my wishes come true! i think i am a born leader (and humble too). i mean, great leaders have long winded speeches time and time again, being quoted in history and what not. in my humble opinion, a true leader states one word, which are followed by results. here i am "trotting" (with confidence and independence) :)

now that i have convinced you that i am confident and full of leadership qualities, please convince my parents! they unfortunately don't believe that i am all grown up! they think i'm "trying" to be independent .....

... ok, so truth be told - i did attempt to go on a ride with some friends of mine without my mommy, and the result was my friend trying to console me.

my defense is that a confident person can still be emotional, and a little scared at times :)

of course there was my ER visit this month .... daddy told me to stand on the bench while he got himself ready to go into the pool. i decided to walk off (??) the bench ... did you know that benches can only be walked length-wise?!? no one can tell me i didn't KNOW what i wanted to do. i just didn't realize i would hit my head on the cement floor and suffer a "boo boo" on my head. the big plus was that i got to eat crackers while i waited to be examined.

come on, is this one really my fault?? who leaves a toddler standing on a bench??

ok, i'm not sure these examples are convincing you of much. let me share some video footage of the level of interviews i can handle. these topics are BIG.

age

zoology

etiquette

anatomy

on a completely different note, i need to thank the family who introduced celebrating "half birthdays" to mommy & daddy (the mcB's)! i got to go to chuck e cheese for the first time!! sensory overload, but still fun (for my parents that is).

here are pics from my big "1-8".
