one whole year

after having two uneventful weeks, my birthday week was jam packed with fun & excitement! so many new people and new experiences.

my birthday week started by meeting grandma & grandpa sio for the first time, followed by auntie chris. they gave me so much love and attention, that i wish they could permanently stay with us! all their attention enabled me to learn how to bounce a ball, solidify more sign language, show off the stuff i know how to do, take 5-8 consecutive steps walking on my own, and of course 'get my way' with inconsistent napping :) oh, and grandpa sio kept watching tv which gave me the perfect opportunity to take some sneak peeks, since mommy & daddy never have it on when it's just the three of us. i really worked the situation to my advantage ... but don't tell my parents!

grandma & grandpa quan arrived the day prior to my party. my birthday finally arrived ... and i just couldn't wait! i decided at 12:30a on my birthday, that sleep was unimportant. this had mommy & daddy worried and they broke down and allowed me to sleep with them that night! boy did i sleep well ... but ask daddy how he slept and he might have another response. i decided to be good that morning and take my morning nap while daddy drove around town picking up all the food for the party. uncle joe & grand auntie gigi helped decorate the venue with balloons that morning. they did a fantastic job -- so much so that i couldn't stop staring and playing with the balloons any chance i was allowed. both grandmas & granpas were busy helping setup, as was auntie chris. there were many family & friends from near and far that came to help me celebrate. through all of the pictures, hand offs, games, and food, i was the best birthday boy ever!! i didn't cry and allowed people to "oo and ah" over me. by the end of it all, i was exhausted! but the day wasn't over ... mommy & daddy decided to dress me up as a lion and take me out to beg for candy (which they would never let me eat). i was hotter than ever in that silly looking thing! i didn't even get anything out of that!

my eventful week ended with mommy & daddy dedicating me back to God. they promised to raise me in the ways of God as best as they can. hmm .. i wonder how i can test their love & patience towards me?! :) this is me with both grandpas & grandmas .. and auntie chris.
